This year our very own Project Designer, Becky Blackhall, is heading up the planning committee and we’re told it’s going to be a great event! Evolution: Time Flies will be held Friday, October 16th 2009 at the Mexican American Cultural Center downtown and will include live music, a silent auction, and the ever-popular design competition. PPDS RECEIVES PINNACLE AWARD AGAIN PPDS was recently nominated by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Austin City Center for the 2009 IIDA Texas/Oklahoma Pinnacle Award in the Small Firm category. This award represents the highest honor that the IIDA Texas/Oklahoma Chapter can bestow upon a design firm and is granted only to firms that have consistently contributed aspirations of the profession of interior design, to the community. The nomination itself is a great honor and indicates that our firm has indeed reached a high point with our reputation for service to the community, the profession, and to IIDA. We are pleased to announce that we were chosen as this year’s recipient! CANVAS PRESS NEOCON 2009 BOOTH PPDS was approached by Dustin Meyer of Canvas Press to assist them in designing their trade show booth for the 2009 NeoCon convention in Chicago. Each year thousands of designers and industry representatives gather at the Merchandise Mart to see the unveiling of all the latest and greatest products and technologies in the Interior Design and Architecture field. We were able to provide Canvas Press with expedited design development plans and renderings for their use to construct their 10’x20’ booth. Dustin was even kind enough to broadcast a personal thank you to PPDS in one of his ‘live at the scene’ YouTube broadcasts from the convention. BRIGHT REALTY PPDS has been hired by Bright Realty Company to provide interior design services for “The Kingdom” mixed use project in Dallas, Texas. This will be the largest Class A LEED certified luxury multi-family project in the country with an estimated 5,400 units. STEINER RANCH STEAKHOUSE PPDS is currently collaborating with the development team for the Steiner
Ranch Steakhouse scheduled to open mid November, 2008. The Steiner family
was one of the original rodeo families in Texas. The restaurant will
feature Steiner family memorabilia from old rodeo days and ranching.
PPDS has had a key role in taking the original memorabilia including
the framing of national championship title pictures, belt buckles, and
highlighting a saddle throughout the three story restaurant. PPDS has
also selected, specified, and ordered furnishings and accessories for
select areas. CHATSWORTH PRODUCTS, INC. PPDS is currently collaborating with the development team for CPI of Georgetown, Texas. Chatsworth Products Incorporated engaged PPDS to provide full interior design services including select space planning, interior finish selections, lighting selections, and moveable furnishing plans and selections for their new 9,600 square foot sales building. CPI is proud to reveal their new sales building which showcases their innovative technology support systems implemented both locally and internationally. CPI is scheduled to open early January, 2009. LIFEWORKS PPDS participated in the LifeWorks’ 3rd Annual Home Improvement Challenge through volunteering to design an apartment for one of LifeWorks’ youths that is transitioning from crisis to safety and success.
